Developed by the University of Florida, Manjula Pothos is a slow-growing variety compared to other Pothos plants but makes up for it with its breathtaking foliage. As a trailing or climbing plant, it can be grown in hanging baskets, trained on moss poles, or left to cascade down shelves.
Like other members of the Pothos family, it is low-maintenance and adaptable, making it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced plant lovers.

Light Requirements
Manjula Pothos thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. However, brighter light enhances its variegation.
- Ideal placement: Near an east- or west-facing window where it receives filtered sunlight.
- Artificial light: Grows well under LED grow lights.

- Direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves and fade variegation.
- Very low light, which can cause reduced variegation and leggy growth.
Temperature & Humidity
- Temperature range: 18–27°C (65–80°F). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 12°C (54°F).

Humidity: Prefers 50% or higher, but it can adapt to normal household humidity.
- To enhance growth, place it near a humidifier or use a pebble tray.
- Occasional misting can help, but it is not required.
Watering
Manjula Pothos prefers its soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of issues like root rot.

Watering schedule:
- Water when the top 2.5–5 cm (1–2 inches) of soil feels dry.
- Typically, this means watering every 7–10 days in summer and every 10–14 days in winter.
- Water quality: Tap water is usually fine, but if your water has high chlorine levels, use filtered or distilled water to prevent leaf browning.
- Method: Water thoroughly until excess drains out, but never let the plant sit in standing water.
Soil Requirements
A well-draining, airy potting mix is ideal for Manjula Pothos. A good mix includes:
- 50% potting soil
- 30% perlite (for drainage and aeration)
- 20% orchid bark or coco coir (to retain light moisture without compacting)
A standard Pothos or aroid mix also works well.
Fertilising
- Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser (diluted to half strength).
- Reduce fertilising in autumn and winter when growth slows.
- Avoid over-fertilising, as this can cause leaf burn.
Pruning & Maintenance
- Prune leggy vines to encourage bushier growth.
- Trim yellow or damaged leaves to maintain a healthy appearance.
- Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and enhance photosynthesis.
Pests & Diseases
Manjula Pothos is relatively pest-resistant, but it may attract:
- Spider mites & mealybugs – Wipe leaves with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
- Root rot – Caused by overwatering; ensure well-draining soil.
- Leaf browning or yellowing – Often a sign of inconsistent watering or too much direct sunlight.
Propagation
Manjula Pothos is easy to propagate through stem cuttings.
- Take a cutting with at least 1–2 nodes and a few leaves.
- Place in water, perlite, or soil for rooting.
- Keep in bright, indirect light and change water every 3–5 days if propagating in water.

Great Frother

Before I purchase anything, I like to reach out to the seller first and find out more about the warranty. Elisa responded very quickly and explained the warranty to me. She also told me how to register my frother once I received it.
My frother was delivered in the evening so I used it the following day. I didn't need to charge it because it already had a charge. It was easy to use and frothed my 2% milk and my flavored creamer perfectly. I am very happy with it, so far.
To sum it up: 1) Elisa was responsive and genuinely seemed to care about her customers, which gave me confidence in making this purchase.
2) Frother works great with milk and milk products.
3) I'm glad I won't have to be replacing batteries. All I have to do is plug it in and I'll be good to go. Plus, the charging cord comes with it.
If you are having doubts let me reassure you, you won't be sorry if you purchase it. I really think you'll like it.
Edit #1: I have had this frother for less than 6 months. This is the 2nd time I have had to charge it; pretty impressive, huh? Each charge lasted for about 2 months! Unfortunately, when I went to use it the following day it was completely dead. The charge did not hold and I was unable to use it. I have read reviews about this happening, but, like most people, I didn't think it would happen to me. Well, it did. I contacted the seller and I will update with the end result. I really do like this frother and I am hoping the seller will do the right thing.
Edit #2: I received the new frother within a week. Like the previous one, it came with a charge. Elisa, the customer service rep, was responsive, which I appreciated. It's nice to have my frothy coffee again; I really missed it. I hope this frother lasts longer than 6 months, but if it doesn't, I hope Elisa will help me again. So, in a nutshell, this company offers great customer service and backs up their product. Fingers crossed I won't have to reach out to them again concerning a frother that won't charge.

Beyond worth it!

Before this, I used battery powered frothers and couldn’t keep up with replacing the batteries. As soon as the batteries began to lose their charge, the frothers weren’t powerful enough. Somehow, this doesn’t begin to lose its charge until the charge runs out. I’ve spent a fraction of the price buying this as I did on batteries. I got this in Aug 2024. It’s amazing and incredibly powerful. In a year, I charged it 3 times.
If you don’t get the froth you’re looking for, I’d suggest you watch a video on how to froth correctly. I learned there’s a proper technique that really improves the outcome. It made a world of difference for me.
The charge time advertised is not correct. It lasts much much much longer on one charge. After the charge died, I charged it for maybe an hour and then I used it to whisk thick body butter. When washing it, I got it too wet. The motor wouldn’t stop running, so I called it a loss and put it outside to let it run until it stopped. It ran for hours. Sometime during the night it shut off. The next day, I pressed the on button again and it ran the entire day.
It has a warranty, but I never registered mine, so I don’t mind paying for a replacement since it is so inexpensive.
I’m writing this review now because I liked it so much that I just purchased another one to replace it. I hope this helps.
If you’re unsure:
It is incredibly powerful, but has two speeds, so one will work for any frothing needs.
The price is unbeatable, much less than you’ll spend on batteries.
The charge lasts unbelievably long and stays just as powerful until the charge runs out.
It is detachable, so washing it is really simple. Just wipe the top part.

Mostly good, with one design flaw - See Update - Five stars for new version!

*I bumped my rating from 3 to 4 stars because of the customer service. The seller's response to customer reviews is excellent. This particular model (MF05) still gets 3 stars from me, but the new version (MF09) is definitely a 5 star product. See update below.*
Second Update: I received the new version (FoodVille MF09), and really like it. It solves the variable speed problem. Three speeds are still available, however, each has its own on/off switch, so no more cycling through. It also comes with an additional hook attachment for mixing powders with liquid, as well as a charging stand. It is a few dollars more, but most definitely worth it! Update: FoodVille contacted me to let me know they have a new version of this frother that addresses the variable speed issue I've complained about. They are sending me the new frother, and I will post a review on the updated version soon. The new version is FoodVille MF09, so be sure to check it out as it sounds better than the MF05 I have purchased and reviewed here. In addition to fixing the speed issue, they have included a charging dock.
I've had this frother for a few months now. Overall, it works as well as my Aerolatte hand-held that died. I like that it is rechargeable, since I went through quite a lot of batteries before. My problem with this is the way you have to cycle through the speeds, rather than just selecting the one you want. This is a problem because sometimes I'll need to stop it before I'm finished and then when I resume it is on the next faster speed, which causes the milk to fly out of the glass before I can get back to the lower setting. I have ruined at least one shirt with stains from the flying milk. Also, because of where the on/off button is, and because of its sensitivity, I sometimes turn it off accidentally, which of course causes the milk to slosh everywhere getting back to the lower setting. I really wish you could just pick a speed, even if that means just a high and a low. I'm thinking of going back to a single speed frother. All but the lowest speed seems to be too strong to froth milk anyway.
So, it works, it has good battery life, but cycling through the speeds has been a problem for me. I'll keep using it for now, but may be in the market for something different soon.
