FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Can the MYKE products be used for organic production?

Yes. They are totally safe for plants and animals. Our products are made with 100% natural components and have not undergone any processing, unlike chemical fertilizers. They are also OMRI-listed for organic production.

The MYKE products contain mycorrhizae, natural fungi that have been present in the soil for over 400 million years. Why should any be added?

Soil disturbance by residential construction and intensive farming practices with the use of fertilizers containing pesticides and other chemical products have considerably reduced the populations of naturally occurring mycorrhizal fungi in the soil. Today, their natural presence is not significant enough to enhance plant growth.

The MYKE products contain fungi, but are not harmful to plants. How can this be explained?

"Mycorrhiza" is the term used to describe the symbiotic relationship between mycorrhizal fungi and a plant's root system, a relationship both parties benefit from. In parasitic relationships, on the contrary, fungi steal resources from the plant to ensure their own growth and survival, to the detriment of the plant.

What happens if too much of a MYKE product is used on a plant?

This would have no negative effects whatsoever. To survive, mycorrhizal fungi must colonize a plant’s root system and develop a symbiotic relationship with the plant. As the excess fungi wouldn’t have access to the root system, they would simply die without harming the plant in any way. However, we recommend that you follow the instructions on the product’s label to avoid applying unnecessary amounts of MYKE.

How and when should a MYKE product be applied for optimal results?

For optimal results, apply your MYKE product directly on the root system, or as close as possible to the roots. The best moment to use a MYKE growth enhancer is at the time of seeding or planting.

Why is there a two-year expiry date on the MYKE products?

Our growth enhancers are viable for up to two years, as long as they are stored in a dry, temperate place to ensure proper preservation (away from the freezing cold and intense heat, at a temperature between 4-20°C). This is essential to the survival of mycorrhizae.

Are phosphorus fertilizers compatible with the MYKE products?

Yes, but when using a soluble fertilizer (e.g.: 20-20-20) with a high phosphorus rate (more than 10 %), the quantity to apply is half the manufacturer's recommended amount. Otherwise, it’s a waste of product, as mycorrhizae already increase phosphorus absorption by plants.

Why are the MYKE products a good investment?

Simply put, the MYKE products enhance the general health of plants and soils. Concretely, mycorrhizae will:

  • Ensure faster establishment
  • Reduce watering needs
  • Increase survival
  • Protect against pathogens
  • Increase phosphorus absorption to the detriment of blue-green algae
  • Improve soil structure and prevent erosion

How long does it take before the symbiotic relationship between mycorrhizae and a plant occurs?

It is hard to determine precisely, as the establishment of a symbiotic relationship varies depending on the type of plant, the size of the root system, how close to the roots the mycorrhizal fungi have been applied, temperature variations, etc.

It is safe to say that the symbiosis generally begins a few days after contact between the mycorrhizal fungi and the plant's root system has been established.

Are the MYKE growth enhancers compatible with all plant species?

No, but extensive university research has proven that mycorrhizal fungi colonize 90% of all plant species.Only a few are not receptive, and those will not be negatively affected if they come into contact with mycorrhizae. Below is a complete list of the plant species that are not compatible with the MYKE products:

Very useful if you don't want to explode!
Style: 90 Lumens
Found the unit a bit difficult to adjust on the hard hat but got it dial in eventually. Also impacted by the need to mount goggles on the helmet, that might be rare, but this was my situation working around chemicals. nice and bright. batteries last a couple of days with intermittent use approx. 3.5hrs a day. A bit of a pain to unscrew the cover on batteries but that's the nature of the beast to make sure no sparks escape. Would highly recommend the product. Most other comparable products are around double the price. BTW, the packaging looked like the driver dropped it on the road and ran over it a couple times...but it still worked. UPDATE #1: After a few months of usage, the height adjustment is starting to fail. As I walk, the light begins to droop until it's shining down in front of me. Dissappointed that the adjustment didn't last longer. I might be able to discover a way to lock it back in, but have not taken the time to examine the mechanism yet. UPDATE #2 9-2018: The adjustment problem has now reach its ultimate end. The hinge on bottom has basically disintegrated. Now, when I put batteries in and tighten the screw, the bottom hinge pops loose. The product is no longer usable. The hinge is just cheap plastic, that is a shame, I kind of expected better from nightstick. However, it still seems to be the best option vs. price available so I am planning to order it again. Hope I can get 3 years of intermittent use out of the next one. I do really like it when it is working...lite and bright.

Fantastic. They vary in thickness to accommodate different size punctures, they look nice, good value for the money, the sand out the tire and internal belt to stop leakage. and they easy enough the use.

Size: 3 mm 4.5 mm 6 mm Tire, Number of Items: 3
These tire repair reamers work great for plug/other type repairs. Gone are the days of manually fighting a hand reamer through rough rubber. This is an efficient, neat and clean way to prepare a tire for the repair. Will purchase again as needed.
