Jude the Obscure is one of the most beloved English roses bred by David Austin. Known for its exceptionally strong fruity fragrance, this shrub rose is a top choice for gardeners seeking both beauty and scent in their landscapes.
The blooms are large and cup-shaped, displaying a soft apricot to creamy yellow color that blends beautifully with other garden plants. Its scent is often described as a mix of guava, sweet white wine, and tropical fruits, making it one of the richest-scented roses in the David Austin collection.
This rose is a repeat bloomer, flowering in multiple flushes from late spring to frost. Its upright and bushy growth habit, combined with dark green foliage, adds strong structure and vibrant color to any garden bed or border.
Planting Tips:
• Ideal for garden borders, mixed flower beds, or as a fragrant focal point near patios.
• Prefers full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil.
• Regular feeding and deep watering during the blooming season will maximize flower production.
